I don't remember whether there is direct flight from Boston to HK. But Boston is the nearest major airport to Rhode Island. about 1 - 1.5 hours by driving. NYC is maybe 3 times farther. In Boston, you could choose to fly to Providence, RI, but most people drive instead, since they are indeed very close. If you don't drive, I am sure there are greyhound buses that could take you to RI. To take greyhound buses in boston, you could take T (metro) to south station (I think it's south station, you need to ask)
